QR codes for real estate signs and listings

The sign stays in the yard for weeks. The listing behind it changes every few days.

A QR code on a real estate sign only earns its place if you can change where it points, because a listing moves far faster than the sign does. Use a dynamic code and one printed yard sign can point at the live listing this week, the price drop next week, and a sold page after closing, all without a reprint. A static code locks you into the first URL and turns every status change into a trip back to the sign shop.

Where the code goes

The same dynamic code works across every surface a listing touches: the yard sign, window cards, printed brochures, and the "for sale" rider. Print one per listing, or keep a single agent code that you repoint to whichever property you're showing that day. Every scan resolves to the current destination, so the curbside sign and the open-house flyer never fall out of sync.

Repoint it as the listing moves

  • Under contract? Redirect the code to a "similar listings" page so drive-by scans still turn into leads.
  • Price change? Point it at the updated listing. The sign in the yard is already correct.
  • Sold? Send it to your own agent page instead of a dead link, and keep the sign working as an ad for you.

Size it for the curb

A yard sign gets scanned from the sidewalk or a slow-rolling car, not arm's length, so it needs to be bigger than a flyer code. The rough guide is a 10:1 ratio: a code read from 10 feet wants to be about a foot wide. Turn your real scan distance into a minimum size with our size calculator, and keep a clear margin so a phone can lock onto it.

See which listings pull interest

Because a dynamic code runs every visit through a redirect, each scan is recorded: how many people scanned a sign, when, and roughly where. That turns a yard sign into a read on which listings and which neighborhoods actually draw attention, not just a link on a stick.
